This is a detail of the second piece in my 'Value Added' series.

Made by cutting a single 1/8” square from 1,029 individual U.S. five dollar bills [which were then placed back into circulation through everyday purchases and bank deposits], and arranging them according to an alphanumeric grid system to recreate an 'original' five dollar bill.

This work brings up issues concerning the value of labor and time-spent on unconventional endeavors in a society that embraces supposed hard work involving the conversion of raw materials [in this case - five dollar bills] in order to make a profit.
