Portfolio > cultural explorations

This is a redesigned version of an earlier piece.

With ‘release’, I invite people to write down their innermost secrets, (those which weigh upon you, the things you tell no-one), and place them into the pedestal. Here they are shredded and turned into a cascade of memory, regret, hopes and dreams.

As the pieces fall, the participant engages in the release this piece offers.

As the pedestal fills, I take the remnants of everyone’s secrets and turn them back into paper pulp, from which new sheets of paper are made. This paper is then bound into book form - books, that are blank, yet contain the secrets everyone has released into the world.
